Abdelsalam Moussa will present his Carte Blanche choice - The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - in a Q&A following the screening.
Abdelsalam Moussa is an award winning cinematographer born in Cairo, Egypt in 1984. He graduated from the High Cinema Institute in 2007 and his student films won him several awards. He later joined the Berlinale Talent Campus, which helped him cross bridges to the international film industry. Soon after working as a camera assistant with renowned Egyptian cinematographer Tarek el Telmesany, Moussa started his own career. He shot his first main stream feature film at the young age of 24, followed by many others. Two of his feature films were shot on 35mm films, for which he is an ardent supporter. Moussa also shot 4 primetime TV Series, a few short films and many TV commercials. As a strong film addict, Moussa loves experimenting with different developing processes. He likes to describe the lab as his playground.
